This page explains what data List Bunny collects when you use
the site, what we do with it, and what choices you have. We
wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email
cognitive.apps@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you visit listbunny.com, we use Firebase (Google) to manage:
-
An anonymous account — a random ID assigned to
your browser session, with no email, name, or contact info
attached. The ID exists so your votes and generated lists can
be tied back to your session and counted.
-
The lists you generate and the votes you cast,
stored in Firestore. These are public — anyone visiting the
same list sees the ranking your votes contributed to.
-
Browser preferences (kids mode, mute,
autoplay, narration speed) stored in your own browser's
localStorage. We never read this off your device; it stays
local.
We also write basic request logs (timestamps, error traces) for
the Cloud Functions that handle list generation, search, and
link checks. These logs auto-expire and are used for debugging
only.
Third-party services
-
Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons — we link to
and embed images hosted there. Wikipedia's privacy practices
apply when those images load.
-
OpenAI — list descriptions and AI narration
audio are generated by OpenAI's API. We send the search topic
to them; we don't send your identity or any personal info.
-
Google AdSense — when ads are running on the
site, they're served by Google. Google's ad cookies and
identifiers are governed by Google's own privacy policy at
policies.google.com/privacy. You can
opt out of personalized advertising at
adssettings.google.com.
-
Firebase Analytics — we may use Firebase's
built-in analytics to understand which features get used.
This is event-level data, not identifying.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. There is no advertising deal in
which we pass user data to a buyer.
- We don't profile you across other sites.
- We don't email you. There is no mailing list because we
don't collect email addresses.
Children
Kids mode filters the catalog to age-appropriate lists for
users under 13. We don't collect identifying information from
anyone, so the same data-handling rules apply regardless of
age. If a child visited without kids mode on and you'd like
the session cleared, just close the browser tab — there's no
account to delete.
Your choices
- Clear your browser's localStorage and cookies for
listbunny.com to remove all preferences and reset the
anonymous session ID.
- Use a private / incognito window to avoid persisting any
state.
- Email
cognitive.apps@gmail.com
to request deletion of any user-generated content tied to
your anonymous ID.
Changes
If we change anything material here we'll update the date at
the top of this page. Substantive changes (new third-party
trackers, new data collection) will also be flagged on the
homepage briefly so returning visitors notice.
